RapidX Train Features: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone of Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail Project in March 2019. This 82 kilometer long project is expected to be completed by June 2025. The first phase which is 17 kilometers is going to be inaugurated. According to reports, PM Modi is going to launch it on October 20. In this first phase, people will be able to travel from Sahibabad to Duhai. This distance will be covered in just a few minutes.
CCTV cameras will be installed for security
Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, this train will be very convenient and the biggest thing is that CCTV cameras have been installed in every compartment of the train for security. For comfortable travel of the people, seating arrangements have been made with very modern seats. This corridor has been planned under the RapidX project. The responsibility of whose management will be of National Capital Region Transport Corporation i.e. NCRTC.
The train will run at a speed of 160 km
NCRTC claims that this will be India’s first train system in which the train will run at a speed of 160 km per hour. In the first section, the rapid rail will run between Sahibabad and Duhai depot. This route is 17 kilometers long. There will be 5 stations on this route, which include Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai and Duhai Depot. Passengers will also be able to buy tickets through mobile and card.
Special seating arrangement for disabled people
A stretcher has been arranged in the last compartment of the rail coach. If a patient is referred from Meerut to Delhi, then a separate coach is arranged for this, so that the patient can be transported at a lower cost. Separate seats have been prepared for the disabled, which can be folded when not in use. The seats of this train have been made very comfortable. There are adjustable chairs in the train. Along with this, special arrangements have also been made for standing passengers.
Mobile charger and WiFi will also be available
The train will also have WiFi facility and mobile-USB charger. There will be Rapid Line connectivity on seven lines of Delhi Metro. It will be connected to Munirka, INA and Aerocity. According to the RRTS project, 24 stations will be built along the entire corridor. The agency estimates that if the project is completed in 2025, 8 lakh passengers will be able to travel through it daily.
The journey from Delhi to Meerut will be completed in 55 minutes.
It will take one hour to reach Meerut from Delhi. After the construction of the entire route between Delhi and Meerut, a total of 30 rapid trains are ready to run. Operation and Command Control Center of Rapid Rail Corridor has been prepared in Duhai Yard of Ghaziabad. The government has identified eight such lines, which will be developed under the RRTS project. NCRTC will construct three corridors in the first phase. These will be Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut, Delhi-Gurgaon-Nimrana-Alwar and Delhi-Panipat.
