RBI is not in any plan to introduce Rs 1000 note nor is it thinking of issuing any new Rs 1000 note. ANI posted on Twitter informed that RBI has no plans to bring back Rs 1000.

The Reserve Bank of India had said in a statement that to maintain the cash flow in the market, the government has printed enough notes of Rs 500, so that people do not have to face cash related problems. At the same time, the need for cash among people has reduced with the use of digital payment. In such a situation, RBI says that there is no need to bring Rs 1000 notes. RBI has advised people to stay away from rumours.

Demonetization happened in 2016

It is noteworthy that in 2016, the central government had demonetized Rs 1000 and old Rs 500 notes and in their place issued new Rs 500 notes and Rs 2000 notes. However, now the government has also withdrawn the Rs 2000 note. The deadline for depositing and exchanging Rs 2000 notes in banks has ended.

2000 rupee notes can still be exchanged from here

However, currently you can exchange and deposit Rs 2000 notes in RBI offices. There are a total of 19 regional offices of RBI in the country, from where Rs 2000 bank notes can be exchanged.
