Door-to-door Aadhaar service will start
Actually the central government is preparing to take the services related to Aadhaar at home. UIDAI will soon start door-to-door Aadhaar sewa from door to door. For this, about 48,000 postmen are being trained. That is, in the coming time, the postmen will not only deliver the speed post, but will also work to update your mobile number, address and biometric in your Aadhaar card till your home.
Here is UIDAI’s plan
This training is being imparted as a part of UIDAI’s expansion plans, which is aimed at reaching as many people as possible. A senior government official told ET that UIDAI is planning to cover all 1,50,000 post officers in the second part.
Till now we have worked as a pilot on IPPB postman using tablet and mobile based kit for enrollment of children,” the official said. Now we will expand this so that they can also update Aadhaar information in remote areas through laptop or desktop.
Not just IPPB postmen, Aadhaar issuing body UIDAI also wants to induct around 13,000 banking correspondents who are currently working with the Common Service Center of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
UIDAI is also planning to start
Aadhaar Seva Kendras in each of the 755 districts of the country. UIDAI also intends to open ‘mini’ Aadhaar Seva Kendras in all 7224 blocks of the country.
