Aadhaar card is an important document in today’s time. Many times when you change your house, your address changes and you must also change it in your Aadhaar card. For this, UIDAI gives you a chance to update Aadhaar. But you cannot correct every mistake in Aadhaar again and again. Some rules have been made regarding changes in Aadhaar. Here know how many times a person can change his name, address, gender and date of birth and what is the way to change it.

You can correct this mistake only once

According to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), gender and date of birth can be changed only once in life. If any kind of mistake has been made in it, then you can get it corrected once. But you will not get this chance again and again.

You get a chance to correct this mistake only 2 times

Aadhaar card holders are given the facility to change their name (Name Change in Aadhaar) a maximum of 2 times, that is, the name can be changed only twice. If there is a mistake in your name or a woman has to change her surname after marriage, then she can do this work only twice.

How many times can you change the address

You can change the address on the Aadhaar card (Address Change in Aadhaar) as many times as you want. There is no limit set for this. You can change your address online yourself by providing valid proof like electricity/water/telephone bill, rental agreement or you can change it by visiting the Aadhaar enrolment centre.

This is how the name changes

To change the name, go to the Aadhaar enrolment centre and give your Aadhaar number to the executive officer. You will be asked to fill the Aadhaar enrolment form there. Fill it and attach the necessary documents. After receiving the form and all the documents, the executive officer will take your biometric data for authentication and enter the information. The proof of the document is scanned and the original document is returned. Once the application process is completed, the executive officer gives a receipt containing the receipt number. This receipt number can be used to track the Aadhaar update status. You will be charged Rs 50 for this work.
