Air Taxi: InterGlobe Enterprises, the promoter of India’s largest airline company IndiGo, has entered into an agreement with American startup Archer Aviation.
Under which electric air taxi will be started in India by the year 2026. It will be run in cities like Delhi and Mumbai. This air taxi can fly up to 160 kilometers carrying five people including the pilot.
Air Taxi: In many cities of the country, people remain stuck in traffic jams for hours. In cities like Delhi and Mumbai, it takes an hour to cover a distance of 10 minutes in the morning and evening. In such a situation, many people might be imagining that there would be a flying vehicle in the local too.
But now your imagination is about to turn into reality. This change has been initiated by the country’s largest airline company Indigo. IndiGo’s parent company InterGlobe Enterprises has joined hands with America’s electric vertical take off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft Archer Aviation.
Flying cars i.e. electric air taxi service can start in the country by the year 2026. Through this service, a distance of 2 to 3 hours in the same city can be covered in just 5 to 7 minutes. This service can be started very soon in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru.
The first air taxi was seen in Airshow 2023
Let us tell you that electric air taxi was seen in the Aero India show held in Bengaluru this year. This taxi can travel up to two hundred kilometers at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour. This two seater taxi can also carry two quintals of luggage. With this, there was talk of starting air taxi service in India.
Archer Aviation manufactures electric vertical take off and landing aircraft. These aircraft are completely environment friendly. This air taxi can fly up to 160 kilometers carrying five people including the pilot. Both the companies intend to start this service with 200 taxis in India. The company is also preparing to use them for charter, logistics, medical emergency etc.
How much will the fare be?
Talking about the fare of these air taxis, it is expected to be higher initially. It is being told that the fare can be around Rs 30,000. However, it is expected to reduce later.
