Yes, in fact, now these companies have made network coverage maps available to the people on their respective websites, which will help the customers a lot in choosing better connectivity.
TRAI’s instruction
For information, let us tell you that telecom companies have taken this step after the instructions of TRAI. TRAI had instructed telecom companies to show geospatial coverage maps on their websites. These instructions have come into effect from October 1, 2024 under the revised Quality of Service (QoS) rules. Its purpose is to provide transparent network information to the users so that they can easily choose the best network in their area.
Where to get network coverage map
- You can easily search the network coverage map of these telecom companies.
- Talking about Airtel, this service is available in the ‘Check Coverage’ section of the Airtel app (airtel.in/wirelesscoverage/).
- It can also be seen in the ‘Coverage Map’ section in Jio (jio.com/selfcare/coverage-map/).
- Vi (Vodafone Idea) will get it in the ‘Network Coverage’ section (myvi.in/vicoverage).
- This facility is not available in BSNL at present.
Telecom companies provide network check option
Airtel provides its users the option to view 2G, 4G and 5G network coverage. However, some users have faced problems in using it. At the same time, Jio also provides its users the facility to check 4G, 5G or 4G + 5G coverage in their area. You can avail this facility by entering the address or pin code or by tapping on the map location icon. Jio’s map was last updated on March 1, 2025. On the other hand, Vi also provides its users the facility to view 2G, 4G and 5G network coverage. However, BSNL has not yet made the coverage map available on its website.
