Amazon Layoffs: A series of layoffs are going on intermittently in the e-commerce giant Amazon. Recently the company has fired people from its big division.

Amazon Layoffs: Once again the sword of layoffs has struck the world’s leading e-commerce company Amazon. Amazon is laying off more than 180 employees in its games division. The company has shut down its Crown channel which streams on Twitch. In April this year, Amazon fired more than 100 employees in its gaming divisions, which include Prime Gaming, Game Growth and Amazon Games.

Amazon stopped game growth

The company has shut down Game Growth, which helps game makers distribute their products. Amazon has now started refocusing on its work with the free games offered from Prime Gaming. Amazon is getting rid of its gaming content channel amid the layoffs, according to a memo sent to employees by Christoph Hartmann, vice president of Amazon Games, and seen by The Verge.

Amazon is restructuring

“Following further valuation of our business, it became clear that we needed to focus our resources and efforts on providing great games to players now and in the future,” Hartmann wrote in the memo. According to Hartmann, following the initial restructuring in April, it became clear that we needed to focus our resources even more on areas that have the potential to drive growth for our businesses.

Amazon eliminated more than 180 jobs

This Amazon official said, “With these changes in our business approach, there has also been a change in our resources, due to which more than 180 roles have been eliminated.” However, the company is working to ensure that all affected employees are provided necessary assistance at an individual level, including lump sum amount, outplacement services, health insurance benefits.

Layoffs in Amazon gaming team for the second time in a year

Hartmann wrote, “I recognize this is the second time this year you are hearing about a change in the team and seeing colleagues leave, so let me be very clear when I say this—I stand by my side.” I am confident about the future.” He said, “We are developing and publishing great high-caliber games, our studio team is growing, and our roadmap is bright.”

A large number of layoffs took place in Amazon this year

In March, Amazon announced plans to lay off another 9,000 employees across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Twitch, advertising, and HR. Amazon initially eliminated 18,000 positions in January.
