According to the viral message, if you withdraw money from ATM more than 4 times, a total of Rs 173 will be deducted including tax of Rs 150 and service charge of Rs 23. It is claimed that after 4 transactions in the bank from June 1, a charge of Rs 150 will be levied on every transaction.

PIB has told the reality of this message going viral on social media. PIB has clearly said that this message is completely fake. Rs 173 is not being deducted from anyone’s account after 4 transactions. PIB has written in its message that you can do 5 free transactions every month from ATM. After this, a maximum of Rs 21 per transaction or any tax will have to be paid separately.

If a customer uses another bank’s ATM, then 3 financial and non-financial transactions are free in metro cities in a month. 5 transactions are free for non-metro cities. After the free transaction, a charge of Rs 20 will be collected. However, a maximum of Rs 21 can be charged from January 1, 2022.
