Leaving aside other methods, at present the process of extorting money by posing as bank employees is still going on. Scammers either mislead people by posing as fake bank employees, or scare them by telling them about any account related problem  .

However, the government, Reserve Bank of India ( RBI ) as well as banks also spread awareness about such frauds from time to time. In this context, Axis Bank has advised its customers to take some necessary precautions to avoid such frauds.

Keep yourself safe by keeping these things in mind –

Axis Bank employees never ask KYC details, OTP, debit card PIN or CVV from their customers on call, hence do not share your KYC details like PAN details or date of birth

with anyone on call. Check who the calls are coming from. Cross-check that this is indeed the customer service number of the bank.

Don’t rely solely on your caller ID

Do not fall prey to any mobile number change request, Axis Bank employees never ask you to update your mobile number.
