According to the United Forum of Bank Unions, the issue of 5-day banking work was raised in the last discussion. The Indian Banking Association informed that the issue is under consideration and is being worked upon. According to the United Forum of Bank Unions, it has been requested to expedite this so that five banking days per week can be started without any delay.
However, the daily working hours for bank employees may be increased by 40 minutes. For this a meeting has been fixed on 28th July. Many important issues are likely to be discussed in this meeting. Approval of the Finance Ministry and the Reserve Bank is also necessary on this.
