Bank Holidays Alert: According to the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed for 18 days in October. These holidays also include regular holidays like second and fourth Saturday and Sunday. But there is a need to understand the calendar of RBI.
According to this, there are 11 holidays which are either related to festivals or are gazetted. Let us tell you that some bank holidays are also regional and may differ in different states and banks. Understand that if banks are closed in UP on any day, it will not be necessary that banks in other states also remain closed on the same day.
Earlier this month, banks will not physically function across India due to Sunday holiday (October 1) and Gandhi Jayanti (October 2). Also on 24th October most of the banks will not function due to Dussehra holiday (except Hyderabad and Imphal).

Bank Holidays on October 23: Dussehra, Ayudha Puja, Durga Puja, Vijayadashami (Agartala, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Shillong, Thiruvananthapuram).
Bank Holiday on 24th October: Dussehra/Durga Puja (All India except Hyderabad and Imphal)
