Banks will remain closed for a total of 16 days in the month of October. This also includes state holidays. Information regarding this has been given by releasing the list from the Reserve Bank.

October Bank Holidays List

  • 2 October (Monday) – Gandhi Jayanti – National Holiday
  • 14 October (Saturday) – Mahalaya – Banks are closed in Kolkata.
  • 18 October (Wednesday) – Kati Bihu – Banks are closed in Assam.
  • 21 October (Saturday) -Durga Puja (Maha Saptami) – Banks are closed in Tripura, Assam, Manipur and Bengal.
  • 23 October (Monday) – Dussehra (Mahanavami)/Ayudha Puja/Durga Puja/Vijay Dashami – Banks are closed in Tripura, Karnataka, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Kanpur, Kerala, Jarakakhand, Bihar.
  • 24 October (Tuesday) – Dussehra/Dussehra (Vijayadashami)/Durga Puja – Banks are closed in all states except Andhra Pradesh, Manipur.
  • 25 October (Wednesday) – Durga Puja (Dasain) – Banks are closed in Sikkim.
  • 26 October (Thursday) – Durga Puja (Dassain) / Merger Day – Banks are closed in Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir.
  • 27 October, (Friday) Durga Puja (Dasain) – Banks are closed in Sikkim.
  • 28 October (Saturday) – Lakshmi Puja – Banks are closed in Bengal.
  • 31 October (Tuesday) – Birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel – Banks are closed in Gujarat.

Banks closed on Saturday and Sunday

Due to October 1 being a Sunday, banks across the country will remain closed. Apart from this, banks will also remain closed on 8, 15, 22 and 29 October due to Sunday. Apart from this, October 14 and 28 are the second and fourth Saturdays, due to which banks across the country will remain closed.

Banks will remain closed in the month of October due to holidays and the bank has provided the facility that people can do their work sitting at home through mobile net banking, but in such a situation, you may face problems while withdrawing cash from the ATM.
