Yes, the list of holidays released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for the month of September has been released. You can plan your work according to this list. According to the list of holidays released by the RBI, banks in different states of the country will remain closed for 16 days including the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays of the month. All Public Sector Banks, Private Sector Banks, Foreign Banks and Co-operative Banks will remain closed on local festivals as well as national holidays and local holidays as per RBI guidelines.

There are many festivals in September

Banks across the country will remain closed on account of national holidays like Shri Krishna Janmashtami on 6th and 7th September and Eid-e-Milad on 28th September. Customers are advised to plan bank related work well in advance to avoid last minute hassles. Plan accordingly. However, internet banking service and ATM service remain operational throughout the country.

  • 19 September 2023: Ganesh Chaturthi
  • September 20, 2023: Ganesh Chaturthi (2nd day) and Nuakhai (Odisha)
  • September 22, 2023: Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi Diwas.
  • 23 September 2023: Fourth Saturday and birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh.

  • September 27, 2023: Milad-e-Sherif (Birthday of Prophet Mohammad).

  • September 29, 2023: Indrajatra and Friday after Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi (Jammu and Srinagar)

As per the RBI guidelines, banks have a holiday on every Sunday apart from all public holidays. Apart from this, banks remain closed on second and fourth Saturdays as well.
