Bank Holidays: Reserve Bank of India has issued working instructions for all the banks across the country on Sunday. In the instructions of RBI, instructions have been given to open bank branches for government work on March 31. Actually, March 31 is Sunday but it is the last day of the current financial year.
Know why instructions were given to open a bank
According to media reports, RBI in its statement has requested to open banks on March 31 to keep track of government transactions related to receipts and payments in the financial year 2023-24. RBI said that the Central Government has asked to keep all the branches of banks related to government receipts and payments open for transactions on March 31.
In such a situation, RBI directs banks to open all their branches related to government business on 31st March i.e. Sunday.
There will be no work in banks for three days
Let us tell you that due to Holi, there is going to be a holiday in banks in all the states. Banks across the country will remain closed on March 25. Due to March 23 being the fourth Saturday, banks will remain closed. It is Sunday 24th March. In this way, there will be holiday in banks for three consecutive days. There will be a holiday of four days in the banks of Bihar. Because 22nd March is Bihar Day. In such a situation, banks will remain closed in the state on that day.
There will be a bank holiday in Patna on 26th and 27th March also. March 29 is Good Friday, hence banks will remain closed across the country on that day also. On the other hand, banks will not open in Bhubaneswar and Imphal on 26 March. After this, all the banks of the country will remain closed on April 1, that is, there will be no work in the banks even on the first day of the financial year 2024-25.
