The bank has made changes in fund transfer through mobile and internet, minimum deposit in bank account, fee on return of Cheque and fee related to ECS.
If you are a Canara Bank customer or are planning to open your account in Canara Bank , then this news is important for you. Actually the bank has changed the charges on some of its services. According to the bank, all these services whose charges have changed are non credit and non forex services. The bank has informed that it has levied cheque return charges, ECS debit charges, charges for keeping money below the minimum amount in the account, ledger folio charges and funds through internet and mobile banking service. There has been a change in the transfer fee.
Cheque return fee
If there is a cheque return due to technical reasons, then the customer will not have to pay any fee for that. However, Rs 200 will be charged if a cheque of less than Rs 1000 is returned after review. Rs 300 on cheques of value less than Rs 10 lakh. A fee of Rs 500 will be charged for cheques between Rs 10 to Rs 50 lakh, Rs 1000 for cheques between Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore and Rs 2000 for cheques above Rs 1 crore.
ECS (Debit Return)
Through electronic clearing service, people take services ranging from investment to loan repayment, in which a fixed amount is deducted from the customer’s account on a fixed date. However, many times, due to lack of money in the account, the money is not deducted, on which the bank charges. On return of ECS debit, if the amount is less than Rs 1000 then Rs 300, if the amount is between Rs 1000 and Rs 5000 then Rs 400, between 5 thousand and 10 thousand Rs 450, less than one lakh but more than 10 thousand A fee of Rs 475 will have to be paid on the ECS Debit Return of Rs.
Minimum deposit in bank account
According to the bank, a fee of Rs 500 in rural areas, Rs 1000 in towns and small cities and Rs 2000 in metros will be charged for not keeping the average minimum balance. On the other hand, for non-maintenance of average balance in a month, fees ranging from Rs 45 to Rs 1999 will be charged in cities, on which GST will also be levied. Whereas in towns and small cities, Rs 45 to Rs 999 and GST will be charged from Rs 45 to Rs 499 in villages.
Fund transfer through mobile and internet
According to the bank, there will be no charge for transfer of less than Rs 1000. Whereas Rs 3 on transfer of Rs 1000 to Rs 10000, Rs 5 on fund transfer between Rs 25 thousand to less than Rs 10 thousand and Rs 8 on fund transfer of less than Rs 1 lakh, Rs 15 between Rs 1 and 2 lakh. Fund transfer fee of Rs 20 will be levied between Rs 2 and Rs 5 lakh. Along with this, a fee of Rs 50 will be charged for change in mobile number, email, address etc.
