Bank Weekly Off : Bank employees have fun, will get two days off every week, just have to accept this condition

Bank Weekly Off: If you are a bank employee then good news has come for you. In which bank employees can get great relief. The Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) is considering the demand of bank unions for a five-day work week. If this demand is successful, then soon bank employees will get 2 days weekly holiday. However, a report has claimed that working hours can be increased by 50 minutes every day in a 5-day work week.

Please tell that now the bank employees get a holiday on Saturday leaving one week. If this rule is accepted, then bank employees will get 8 days leave in a month instead of 6 days weekly leave. But for this, the government will have to notify all Saturdays as holidays under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.

Every Saturday and Sunday will be off

S Nagarajan, general secretary of the All India Bank Officers’ Association, told The Times of India that the government will have to notify all Saturdays as holidays under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. Right now bank employees currently work on alternate Saturdays. It was also revealed in the TOI report that

Talks are going on between IBA and United Forum of Bank Employees (UFBI) regarding 5 working days in a week and 2 days off. According to reports, the association has agreed in principle to work for 5 days a week. But the employees will be required to work 40 minutes extra every day from 9.45 am to 5.30 pm.

Banks will remain closed for 12 days in March 2023

Banks will remain closed for 12 days including the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays in the month of March. While some bank holidays will be in the whole country, there will be some local holiday ie holiday according to the festival celebrated in the state. All banks remain closed on public holidays. Some banks celebrate regional festivals and holidays, so banks are closed on that day in that state. There are many festivals in the month of March 2023 like Holi, Chaitra Navratri, Ram Navami etc. However, these holidays differ in different states. These holidays are given under the notification of festivals celebrated in specific states or specific occasions in those states.
