In such a situation, in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Federation President Rajendra Mohan Singh Chhina on Sunday, a demand has been made to increase the retirement age of college teachers from 58 years to 65 years.
However, before this, the chapter on giving Central status to Panjab University has been closed for the time being. The matter of increasing the retirement age of university professors to 65 years and implementing the new pay scale also seems to be in cold storage.
Earlier, the hope of getting Central University status was anticipated by the college teachers. He believed that the retirement age of the professor could increase after getting the central status. Now once again the issue has come to a halt, the retirement age for Professor has been fixed at 58 years.
Along with this, there has also been a demand for the complete implementation of the Grant-in-and-Scheme by the Federation.
