New Delhi: 5G infrastructure is expanding rapidly around the world. In such a situation, it is expected that by the year 2026, about 3.5 billion people, 350 million people will reach 5G connection. This is revealed by Ericsson’s latest Ericsson Mobility report. It has also been claimed that 5G connections will reach 60% coverage area by the year 2026. According to the report, by the year 2026, 4 out of 10 smartphones worldwide will have 5G connectivity. What will be the 5G connectivity of India
According to the report, by 2026, around 35 crore people in India will have 5G connectivity. However, the future of India’s 5G connectivity will largely depend on the 5G spectrum auction. If the 5G spectrum auction process starts in India at the beginning of 2021, India could reach the figure of 35 million 5G connections by 2026. In that case, by the year 2026, 27 percent of the total smartphone users in India will have 5G subscription.
5G connection does not increase much
The current population of India is around 135 crores. In such a situation, even after 6 years, there will be only 27 per cent 5G connection, for that it will be mandatory to have 5G spectrum auction on time. It simply means that even after 6 years, not much will change. After 6 years in India, the LTE network will continue to be occupied. By this time, around 63 percent of users will have to operate on the LTE network. But during these 6 years Internet consumption will increase significantly.
