How much is the debit card fee
Most debit cards are free for account holders, but in some cases, an issuance or card linkage fee, annual fee and card replacement charge are levied.
The joining charge for some State Bank of India debit cards can be as high as Rs 300, while the annual fee ranges between Rs 125 and Rs 350. The replacement charge for the debit card is Rs 300. For some PNB debit cards, the joining fee is Rs 250, the annual fee is Rs 500 and the replacement charge is Rs 150.
Similarly, the joining and annual charges for HDFC Bank debit cards range from Rs 250 to Rs 750 and the card replacement fee is around Rs 200. Whereas for ICICI Bank, the joining fee for different debit cards is up to Rs 1999. The annual fee for the debit card ranges from Rs 99 to Rs 1499. Please note that all banks charge Rs 50 for duplicate/regeneration of PIN.
Minimum balance requirement
There is no penalty for not maintaining minimum average balance for SBI regular savings account. On the other hand, Punjab National Bank charges Rs 400 to Rs 600 for not maintaining quarterly average balance in savings accounts. On the other hand, the penalty for maintenance of minimum average balance ranges from Rs 150 to Rs 600 , depending on the average monthly balance for HDFC Bank regular savings account . Similarly, in case of non-maintenance of minimum balance, ICICI Bank charges 6 per cent of the amount on monthly average or Rs 500 whichever is less.
How much do banks charge ATM charges
SBI charges customers Rs 10 for using SBI ATMs more than six times in a month and Rs 20 for using ATMs of other banks beyond the free limit. Whereas PNB Bank charges Rs 10 for using PNB ATMs more than 5 times in a month and Rs 20 for using ATMs of other banks.
Similarly, HDFC Bank charges Rs 21 for withdrawing cash from one HDFC Bank ATM more than five times in a month and using another bank’s ATM more than thrice. A flat charge of Rs 21 is levied on ICICI Bank ATM usage more than five times in a month and more than thrice at a different bank’s ATM.
Charges for duplicate statement
If duplicate statement is demanded by the bank, then all the banks levy a charge of Rs 100 on one copy.
