It is expected that after the continuous jump in the figures of AICPI index, the number of employees can be increased by 3 to 5 percent. It can be announced by March 2023 and it can be implemented from January itself. However, official confirmation is yet to be made.
Actually, both the Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief of the employees are revised twice a year in January and July by the Central Government. It has been revised in 2022, now it is likely to be announced in 2023. In the second half, the numbers of AICPI index will decide how much dearness allowance will increase in January 2023. The increase in January 2023 will be according to the figures till December.
DA will be 42 or 43 percent
Presently central employees are getting the benefit of 38 per cent DA and it is expected that in the new year the DA of central employees-pensioners may be increased by 3 to 5 per cent, after which it may be 42 or 43 per cent. Since the AICPI index has increased by an overall 2.1 percent recently, this figure stood at 131.2 in September. Dearness allowance will increase on the basis of data till December 2022, till now the data till September has come and October, November and December are yet to come.
Salary will increase up to 27000
According to media reports, with an increase in DA of 4 percent, employees getting a salary of Rs 18,000 will get an increase of Rs 720 per month and an increase of Rs 8,640 in annual salary. Similarly, employees getting salary of Rs 56900 can see an increase in DA by Rs 2276 per month and Rs 27312 per year. The same can also increase Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners. This will benefit 48 lakh central government employees and 68 lakh pensioners. There is a possibility that it can be announced in March 2023 around Holi.
