In March 2023, the government increased the dearness allowance for central employees by 4%. It was implemented from January 2023. Now the new dearness allowance is to be implemented from July 2023, which will be announced in October. But, its numbers have been very encouraging. So far the figure of DA Hike has reached close to 45%. That means an increase of 3 percent is definitely visible in it. By July, this figure can show a jump of 4%.

AICPI index numbers released

The Labor Bureau under the Ministry of Labor has released the numbers of the All India Consumer Price Index (Industrial Workers). After the fall in the index in February, it has made a good jump in March. The index has increased from 132.7 points to 133.3 points. There has been a total jump of 0.6 points in this. On a month-to-month basis, the index has gained 0.45 per cent. At the same time, on an annual basis, a growth of 0.80 percent was registered in this month.

How much can be DA Hike?

If we see from this calculation, then DA Hike has increased to 44.46 percent. Whereas in February it was 43.79 percent. The numbers for the three months of April, May and June are yet to come. Dearness Allowance has increased by 2 percent so far in 3 months. In December, the index was at 132.3 points and the dearness allowance was 42.37 per cent. But, according to the data in March 2023, the index has reached 133.3. At the same time, the dearness allowance has been increased to 44.46 percent. If the index increases in the next three months also by the same calculation, then 2 percent more dearness allowance can be increased. In such a situation, the dearness allowance will reach 46 per cent. It will be implemented from July 2023.

Dearness allowance was increased by 4 percent in January as well

For January 2023, dearness allowance was also increased by 4 percent. However, the inflation figure for industrial workers does not always remain the same. That’s why it is not certain that dearness allowance will increase at the rate of 4 per cent only if it is increased twice every year. But, this is happening for the last three times. In the year 2022 also there was an increase of 4 percent.
