There is good news for the government employees of Madhya Pradesh. His salary has increased from 1st April. 

The government has directly implemented an order to increase their dearness allowance by 11 percent. Let us inform that a few days ago, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had announced to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) of state government employees from 20 percent to 31 percent.

He had said that due to coronavirus, we could not increase the DA of the state government employees. But now it will be increased to 31 per cent and will be distributed from April. Officials said that about seven lakh employees and pensioners will benefit from this decision. The announcement was made two days before the budget session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly began.

Central employees also expected

Here, central government employees are also expected to increase DA. If the government announces a 3 per cent increase in DA, then the central government employees will get an allowance at the rate of 34 per cent.

Presently they are getting DA of 31 per cent of their basic pay. These employees can also get the arrears of the last two months along with the March salary. The increase in dearness allowance will benefit more than 1 crore central employees and pensioners.

Explain that under the 7th Pay Commission (7th CPC), the central government revises the DA twice a year – in January and July.

The Dearness Allowance of Central Government employees under the Seventh Pay Commission is calculated as follows:

Dearness Allowance Percentage = ((Average of AICPI (Base Year 2001=100) -115.76/115.76) for last 12 months) x 100. Here, AICPI stands for All India Consumer Price Index.
