According to a circular issued on July 7, 2023, the Department of Public Enterprise (DPE) said that the dearness allowance of officers and non-unified supervisors at or below the board level of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) has been revised. This increase will be applicable from 1 July 2023.

How much dearness allowance will be given on how much basic salary

The circular states that from July 1, 2023, the dearness allowance for employees with basic salary up to Rs 3,500 per month will be 701.9 per cent i.e. Rs 15,428.

For employees drawing basic pay between Rs 3,501 and Rs 6,500 per month, the dearness allowance will be 526.4 per cent, subject to a minimum of Rs 24,567.

For employees drawing basic pay above Rs 6,500 and up to Rs 9,500, the dearness allowance rate will be 421.1 per cent of pay, subject to a minimum of Rs 34,216.

The Central Government revises the DA rates every year in the months of January and July. The Finance Ministry has increased the dearness allowance of Central Public Sector Enterprise employees to 39.2 per cent, which was expected to go up to 42 per cent. At present, other central employees are getting dearness allowance at the rate of 42 per cent. At the same time, the Finance Ministry may soon announce an increase in the dearness allowance for the month of July for other central employees.
