DA Hike Expected in July 2023: The next dearness allowance of central employees will now increase after 6 months. But, its preparation has already started. The numbers have come for how much will be increased in the next Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) to be implemented from July 1, 2023. But, there is still more clarity left. At present, the dearness allowance ie DA of central employees is 42%. It has been implemented from January 2023 itself. It is to be paid in the April salary.

At the same time, discussion has started that how much will be the next DA Hike. According to the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission, DA is revised every 6 months. Now the number of new calculation for new dearness allowance will come on the evening of 28 April. This will give a little more indication that how much dearness allowance can be increased in future.

On what basis the dearness allowance will increase in July

Whatever revision happens in the dearness allowance, it is based on the CPI-IW index of 6 months. Now dearness allowance is applicable from January. But, now it is to be implemented from 1 July 2023. This means that the figures of AICPI-IW that will come from January 2023 to June 2023, will decide how much dearness allowance will jump. So far the dearness allowance has reached 43.79 on the basis of index. Means 44 percent dearness allowance has been fixed till February. Now the next number i.e. the figure for March will come on the evening of 28 April.

What is the DA score now?

There has been an increase in dearness allowance in February 2023. However, the index figure had come down from 132.8 to 132.7 in February. But, there was a slight increase in the DA score and it has increased to 43.79. It is clear from this that dearness allowance has reached 44%. The data for March 2023 will come on the evening of 28 April, and it is expected to increase further. DA’s score will cross 44 percent. However, after this the CPI-IW numbers of April, May and June will also be added to it. Only after this the final DA/DR will be decided. According to experts, dearness allowance is expected to increase by 4%.

How much can DA increase?

Based on the calculation of the 7th pay commission, there may be a 4% increase in the dearness allowance applicable from July 1, 2023. According to experts, even if the index number does not change in the coming months and it remains at 132.7, there will be an increase of at least 3% in DA. However, it is impossible for the index number to remain the same. In this case DA Hike will be 45%. But, if there is a slight jump in the index, then DA Hike can be 46 percent. That means dearness allowance is expected to increase from 42 per cent to 46 per cent from July.

New data will come on April 28

The Labor Bureau of the Ministry of Labor knows the figures of AICPI-IW (All India Consumer Price Index – Industrial Workers). These numbers are issued on the last date (last working day) of every month. In this, the bureau collects data of many items from different industrial areas. Inflation is compared on the basis of this. Further calculation would have been done on the basis of this number.
