DA Hike: This time there is a direct jump of 4 percent from the previous rate of DA received by central employees from 42 percent. This will lead to a significant increase in the salary of the employees. The DA score for the month of May has been released.
7th Pay Commission DA Hike: Central government employees were waiting for July 1 for a long time, because this was the date when their Dearness Allowance was to be increased drastically. Since July, all central government employees have got an increase of up to 46 per cent in their DA. According to the AICPI index, there has been an increase of 0.50 points in the May score.
Big jump in AICPI index
The DA of central government employees is fixed on the basis of All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI). AICPI numbers are released at the end of every month. Based on these numbers, the DA score is revised/calculated after every 6 months. The CPI (IW) for 2001 = 100 stood at 134.7 in May, while it stood at 134.02 in April. There has been a big jump of 0.50 points in the AICPI index.
There has also been a big jump in the DA score. According to the current figures, the DA score has reached 45.58 per cent. Although the AICPI numbers for June are yet to come, a 4 per cent hike in DA is all but certain.
Know how much DA score increased month by month
Under the 7th Pay Commission, the Labor Bureau has released the figures of AICPI Index (Industrial Workers) for 5 months. Among these, the index remained strong in January. There was a slight decline in February, but the DA score increased in February. There was a good jump in the index in March also. The index had increased from 132.7 points to 133.3 points.
A big jump was also seen in April, when the index reached 134.02 and the DA score reached 45.04 per cent. May’s numbers have added to the enthusiasm. The figures for June will be released at the end of July.
