On what basis does dearness allowance increase?

The Labor Bureau calculates dearness allowance and dearness relief for employees and pensioners. It is calculated on the basis of Consumer Price Index (CPI-IW).
How much money will increase
If at present the basic salary of a government employee is Rs 18000, then on this he gets 42 percent dearness allowance ie Rs 7560. But if the dearness allowance increases to 46 percent, then the dearness allowance will increase to Rs.8280 per month. Accordingly, the salary will increase by Rs 720 every month.
