Big meeting tonight
According to media reports, a meeting of the Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is proposed today at 6.30 pm. In this meeting, the central government can put its final stamp on the increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief of central employees and pensioners. It is estimated that after the release of the AICPI index data, DA can be increased by about 4 percent. If the consent is made then the DA of the employees will increase from 38% to 42%.
The same increase in DA and DR will be from January 2023 to June 2023 i.e. for the first half. The dearness allowance of central employees and pensioners is increased twice a year, how much the DA rates will increase depends on the AICPI figures released by the Labor Ministry. In the last half year, the government had increased the DA of central employees by four per cent, after which the DA of the employees had increased from 34 per cent to 38 per cent.
New rates will be applicable from January 1, 2023
If media reports are to be believed, the new dearness allowance rates will be implemented from January 1, 2023, in which case arrears for the months of January and February will also be given. There is a possibility of payment of 42 percent dearness allowance in the same March salary, in which a total of Rs 1440 will be paid separately, the total increase on pay-band three will also be Rs 720 per month.
If sources are to be believed, the finance department will issue the order after the proposal is approved in the cabinet meeting. This will benefit 50 lakh employees and 65 lakh pensioners. At present, central employees are getting the benefit of 38% dearness allowance and dearness relief, after the new rates DA will increase to 42%. The same pensioners will also be paid dearness relief at the rate of 42%.
Know how much will be the increase in salary
- If DA becomes 42% then the employee will get Rs 7,560 as DA. That means he will get Rs 720 more. That is, according to the year, there will be a benefit of Rs 8,640. If the basic salary of a government employee is Rs 56,000, then DA at the rate of 38% is Rs 21,280. After an increase of 4 per cent, it will become Rs 23,520. There will be an annual benefit of Rs 26,880.
- If your basic salary is Rs 25,000 then you will be getting dearness allowance of Rs 9500 at present. But at 42 percent DA, it will become Rs 10,500, which means your salary will increase by Rs 12,000 annually.
- If the basic salary of any employee is Rs 30,000 per month, then his salary will increase by Rs 1,200 every month, according to which the annual gross salary will increase by Rs 14,400. If the basic salary of an employee is Rs 2.50 lakh per month, then his annual salary will increase by Rs 1,20,000.
