Yogi government has given a gift to the fifth and sixth pay scale employees of UP. Their dearness allowance has been increased. Those in the sixth pay scale will get dearness allowance at the rate of 230 percent and the fifth pay scale will get 427 percent.

The Yogi government of UP on Wednesday issued orders to increase the dearness allowance of fifth and sixth pay scale employees. Employees working in the pay structure recommended by the Sixth Central Pay Commission and implemented by the state government will now get 230 percent dearness allowance of the basic pay.

Similarly, employees in the fifth pay scale will get dearness allowance at the rate of 427 percent of the sum of salary and dearness allowance. These employees will get the benefit of increase in dearness allowance from July 1, 2007. It is noteworthy that till now the sixth pay scale employees were getting dearness allowance at the rate of 221 percent. Whereas the employees of the fifth pay scale were getting dearness allowance at the rate of 412 percent.

Additional Chief Secretary of Finance Department, Deepak Kumar has issued an order to increase the dearness allowance. Dearness allowance at the increased rate will be paid in cash from November 1, 2023. The remaining amount payable from July 1 to October 31, 2023 will be deposited in the provident fund account of the officer/employee. The arrears of officers and employees who are not members of the Provident Fund account will be given in the PPF account or in the form of NSC.

An amount equal to 10 percent of the residual dearness allowance amount of the employees covered under NPS will be deposited in the tier-one account of the employees. An amount equal to 14 percent of the residual amount will be deposited by the state government in the tier-one pension account. 90 percent of the amount will be given in personnel PPF or in the form of NSC.

Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, Deepak Kumar, has also issued an order to give the benefit of increase in dearness allowance from July 1, 2023 to the All India Service officers posted in the state as per the above arrangement. Earlier, DA was increased in other departments including Transport Department.
