Debit/credit users new update: When an account is opened in the bank, a debit card is given. Also today people are making many credit cards also. In such a situation, you should know that the new card comes with some restrictions. This means that you cannot make any online or offline transactions with the associated debit or credit card unless you activate the ‘Card Control’ option through net banking, mobile app or by visiting the branch.
How to activate the card for online use
Whenever a new debit card or credit card is issued, the ‘card control’ mechanism is switched off by default. This means that the said debit or credit card cannot be used anywhere online or offline without turning on transaction control.
To enable the ‘Card Control’ mechanism, people are required to enable the Transaction Limits mechanism. This will have to be done by visiting the bank’s mobile app/net banking/portal.

Kotak Mahindra Bank

- Open Kotak Mahindra Bank mobile app and log in using your CRN and MPIN.
- Once opened, scroll down and find the section called ‘Cards’. Then click on the Credit Card or Debit Card/Spend Card button.

- By default, the ‘Card Status’ (Master button) button will be off. Click on it to turn it on.

- Once logged in, click on the ‘More’ button below.

- Then a new page will open and it will have two options – domestic and international. On each small box there, you have to click and increase or decrease the monetary transaction limit accordingly.
