Delhi Metro Tickets on IRCTC Portal: DMRC has brought great news for the residents of Delhi. Now you will not have to stand in long lines at the station to get metro tickets. You will be able to buy tickets for Delhi Metro only through the portal of Indian Railway Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). For this, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has tied up with IRCTC. In such a situation, passengers will now be able to buy QR based metro tickets on the IRCTC portal.

Both IRCTC and DMRC passengers will get benefit

According to the report published in Mint, IRCTC has issued a notification informing that it has tied up with DMRC for QR code based ticket booking. This agreement has been done on August 14, 2023. For this, IRCTC has signed MoU. In its press release, IRCTC said that through this partnership, the passengers of both DMRC and IRCTC will get benefits. With this, passengers will get rid of standing in long queues and will save the time of passengers. Giving information on this matter, officials said that this agreement of IRCTC and DMRC should be seen as an initiative of ‘One India One Ticket’. Along with this, through this facility, the goal of IRCTC and DMRC is that people can get ticketing facility without any hassle.

When will the facility start

On the other hand, according to the report of the language, the officials of IRCTC and DMRC, when asked questions on the deadline for the start of the project, replied that no period has been fixed for when this facility will be started, but by working on it as soon as possible. It will be started soon. Significantly, IRCTC has been working on the ‘One India One Ticket’ initiative for a long time. Through this, efforts are being made to provide online tickets for all mediums like bus, train, flight, metro etc. to the passengers on a single platform. Under this initiative, passengers can already book train, bus and flight tickets on the IRCTC portal. Now Metro ticket booking facility is also going to be added to it.

IRCTC released quarterly results-

Significantly, before announcing this partnership, IRCTC has released the results of the first quarter of the current financial year. In this, a 5 percent decline in the company’s profit has been registered on a year-on-year basis and it has fallen to Rs 232.22 crore. In the same year this figure was Rs 279 crore. It is worth noting that IRCTC’s earnings through internet ticketing in different categories have been Rs 290 crore as against Rs 302 crore last year. On the other hand, if we talk about the tourism business of the company, it has seen a total increase of 58 percent and it has increased from Rs 82 crore to Rs 130 crore.
