Central Secretariat Mandi House Hauz Khas Dilli Haat INA Kirti Nagar Inderlok Rajouri Garden Anand Vihar and New Delhi are among the major interchange stations.
Construction of Janakpuri West-RK Ashram corridor Tughlakabad-Aerocity and Majlis Park-Maujpur corridor is underway in Phase IV .
In Phase IV, 12 interchange stations will be built on three metro corridors under construction. Out of which nine will be new interchange stations. At present, there is facility to change metro at three stations as well. After the completion of the new interchange stations, there will be 37 interchange stations in Delhi. With this, the convenience of metro traffic in Delhi will become better and easier.
Presently there are 28 interchange stations in Delhi Metro. In which Kashmere Gate and Rajiv Chowk are the busiest interchange metro stations.
Most of the passengers travel from these two stations. Apart from this, Central Secretariat, Mandi House, Hauz Khas, Dilli Haat INA, Kirti Nagar, Inderlok, Rajouri Garden, Anand Vihar and New Delhi are among the major interchange stations.
Phase IV includes Janakpuri West-RK Ashram Corridor, Tughlakabad-Aerocity and The construction of Majlis Park-Maujpur corridor is underway. The Janakpuri West-RK Ashram corridor is the largest of these. This is an extension project of the Magenta Line.
There will be facility to change metro at eight stations on this corridor. In which Janakpuri West and RK Ashram metro stations are also included. Janakpuri West Metro station is the interchange station with the present Magenta Line (Janakpuri West – Botanical Garden) and Blue Line (Dwarka Sector 21-Noida/Vaishali).
Azadpur will be three metro corridor transit point Janakpuri West-RK Ashram Corridor will also have a new station at Azadpur. Azadpur is presently an interchange station with Yellow Line (Samaypur Badli-HUDA City Centre) and Pink Line (Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar).
On completion of Phase IV project, Azadpur will become an interchange station with Magenta Line apart from Yellow and Pink Line. This will be the second station of Delhi Metro after Kashmere Gate, which will be the transit point of three Metro corridors. Therefore, once the Phase IV project is completed, Azadpur can emerge as a major interchange station.
