Now passengers will be able to travel by purchasing QR code-based paper tickets. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said that it is going to end the concept of physical token very soon.

DMRC has started a new facility for passengers in all lines. Now passengers will be able to travel by purchasing QR code-based paper tickets. DMRC said on Monday that this is a transparent step. At present, apart from the token, passengers will also be able to buy QR code based paper tickets from the counter of the station. A senior official said on Monday that the DMRC has upgraded its AFC gates and token or customer service counters for the new facility.

How to use QR ticket at stations

  • Passengers will be able to enter from the station where QR based paper ticket (non-refundable) has been issued. Entry is not allowed from stations other than the issuing station.
  • However, in case of revenue service failure, QR based ticket refund will be allowed by applying Incident Fare Mode as per the prescribed procedure.
  • Passengers will be able to enter within 60 minutes of the issue of QR based paper ticket.
    If any passenger fails to enter the system through QR based paper ticket within 60 minutes from the time of issue of QR based paper ticket, then that ticket will be invalid and neither the passenger will get entry from the station nor any refund will be given Will go.
  • Currently QR based paper ticket will be issued only station wise i.e. from one station to another.
  • If the passenger wants to exit a station midway, the AFC gates will not open using the QR based paper ticket, therefore a free exit ticket will be issued to the passenger by the Customer Care Operator and the old QR based paper ticket will be retained.
  • If a passenger wants to exit from a station ahead of his/her station, the AFC gates will not open using QR based paper tickets. Applicable surcharge equal to the lesser amount, if any, will be recovered from the passenger. After this the customer care operator will issue an exit ticket and will retain the old QR based paper ticket.
