The Net Direct Tax Collection of the Government of India so far in the current financial year has been Rs 8.65 lakh crore.

The Net Direct Tax Collection of the Government of India so far in the current financial year (from 1 April to 16 September 2023) stood at Rs 8,65,117 crore. This is about 23.5 percent more than the tax collection of Rs 7,00,416 crore in the same period of the last financial year. The Finance Ministry gave this information on Monday, September 18. According to the data, the gross direct tax collection of the Government of India in the current financial year has so far been 18.29 percent.

The government said that the gross direct tax collection from April 1 to September 16, 2023 was Rs 9,87,061 crore, which was Rs 8,34,469 crore in the same period last year. Let us tell you that the figure before refunding the taxpayers is called gross direct tax collection.

The advance tax collection so far in this financial year has been Rs 3,55,481 crore, which is about 20.73 percent more than Rs 2,94,433 crore in the same period of the previous financial year.

The government said that so far this financial year, an increase has been seen in both corporate tax and personal income tax. Securities Transaction Tax (STT) has also been added to Personal Income Tax. Net corporate tax collection so far this financial year has stood at Rs 4,16,217 crore, while net personal income tax collection so far has stood at Rs 4,47,291 crore.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said in a statement that the government has also issued a total refund of Rs 1,21,944 crore in the current financial year so far i.e. till September 16, 2023.
