E-auto service is being started in Delhi by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. It will be started from Dwarka Sector-9 station, in which 50 such vehicles will be initially launched on the roads. The move is aimed at promoting last mile connectivity for passengers.
New Delhi: The first e-auto service is being started for the passengers traveling in the metro in the capital Delhi. 50 such vehicles will be started from Dwarka Sector-9 station. Its aim is to promote last mile connectivity for passengers. This information was given by the officials. E-auto service will be started soon.
DMRC chief Vikas Kumar, after assuming charge, informed that the e-auto service will be started soon, first of all it will start for Dwarka. 50 e-autos will be started from Dwarka Sector-9 station and a total of 136 such autos will run there. 50 e-autos may start from Dwarka Sector-9 station in the first week of August.
After this, 663 such e-autos will be started for different areas. Its aim is to promote last mile connectivity for metro commuters. This decision has also been taken because the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is finding the operation of its feeder buses less practical due to less usage. Along with this, other arrangements including charging point are also being made at the station.
Dwarka has 13 stations. According to the DMRC website, there are four routes for Delhi Metro feeder buses – Kashmere Gate Metro Station to Harsh Vihar, Shastri Park Metro Station to Mayur Vihar Phase-III, Mayur Vihar Phase-III to Harsh Vihar and Vishwavidyalaya Metro Station to Shankarpura Burari. . As per the data shared by the officials, currently 50 feeder buses ply in two clusters.
