This decision has been taken by Noida Police in view of the continuous increase in the number of people breaking traffic rules.

During this time, the police has issued instructions saying that more than three consecutive challans should be issued for crimes like red light jumping, overspeeding, overloading, carrying passengers in goods vehicles, using mobile phone while driving or drunk driving. The license of the persons doing so will be cancelled.

According to a police statement on Saturday, in accordance with the instructions given by the Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety and the decisions taken in the meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Road Safety Council, the license will be canceled if more than three consecutive challans are issued.

Continuous increase in crimes

At the same time, it has also been directed that if the drivers keep repeating the offence, the registration of their vehicles can also be suspended or cancelled. According to traffic reports from officials, there have been more than 1,000 road accidents in Noida and Greater Noida this year, resulting in nearly 400 deaths and several injuries.

According to official data released, the traffic police has issued more than 14 lakh challans for rule violations till September 2023, which is more than double the number in 2022. At the same time, in 2023, 69,906 challans have been issued for speeding, 66,867 for jumping red light and 10,516 for using mobile phone while driving.
