E-Shram Card Scheme: Know, what is the government’s scheme and how to register in it
Many labor laborers in the country are workers of the unorganized sector. E-shram cards are being provided to these workers by the government.
Through this labor card, it has been announced to give Rs 500 per month to the laborers of the unorganized sector. Let us inform that on making e-shram card, workers also get free insurance of two lakh rupees.
According to media reports, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced to give 500 per month from December to March to about 2.5 crore laborers of the unorganized sector and about 60 lakh registered laborers.
Let us tell you that the target is to register about 38 crore workers in the country on the e-shram portal. Of these, more than 12.20 crore workers have been registered so far.
Whereas in UP, so far 25691084 workers have registered themselves on the labor portal and now they will be given 500 rupees every month by the government till March. Online registration for e-shram card can be done till December 31, 2021.
Workers associated with the agricultural sector will benefit
Among the people who have e-shram card in UP, the maximum number of 1.24 crore workers are associated with the agriculture sector. According to the data given on the e-shram portal, the second number is household workers, whose number is 4039153. At the same time, the number of workers engaged in the construction sector is 2442088.
Who can register for e-shram card
Any worker who is a home-based worker, self-employed worker or a salaried worker working in the unorganized sector and is not a member of ESIC or EPFO, is called an unorganized worker.

Many more benefits are available from e-shram card
By making an e-shram card, you will be able to get the benefits of all the schemes of the Labor Department such as scholarships to children, free cycles, free sewing machines, free tools for your work, etc. Further this e-card will be linked with the ration card. With this, cheap ration will be available to the workers of the country.
Farmers of these districts got registered for e-shram card in UP
Talking about the workers of UP who have registered on the e-shram portal, then the people of Purvanchal are at the forefront. Till now Kushinagar is on top. Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Bahraich, Siddharthnagar and Gonda district are named after Kushinagar.
926176 people of Kushinagar district have registered and 892879 workers of Maharajganj. At the same time, 799985 workers from Gorakhpur and 635513 workers from Bahraich are registered. Women of Uttar Pradesh are far ahead than men in registering on the e-shram portal.
According to the data given on the e-shram portal till December 16, 2021, the number of women who got the e-shram card is 51.17 percent and that of men is 48.83 percent. If we talk about the age group, then 62.83 percent of them are in the age group of 18 to 40 years.
At the same time, the lowest 5.87 percent are workers in the age group of 16-18 years. The percentage of those above 50 is 10.89 and for those 40-50 it is 20.41 percent.
Insurance of Rs 2 lakh is available on e-shram card
Workers of the unorganized sector get insurance up to Rs 2 lakh under PM Suraksha Bima Yojana if they register with this portal. There is no need to pay premium for this. Apart from this, various types of social security benefits will also be distributed through e-shram.
