Employee Holiday Announced: There is good news for the employees. A holiday has been declared for them. Orders have also been issued in this regard. Employees have to get the benefit of long leave.

Employees holiday, Employees News: There is big news for the employee. Actually his holiday has been announced by the central government. Orders in this regard have also been issued by the DoPT. They will be given the benefit of leave only as per the issued order. Central employees have to get its benefits.

DoPT order issued

In the order issued by DoPT, it was clarified that for the year 2024, holidays will be declared in central offices. Its list has been made available. Central employees will get the benefit of holidays included in this list. With the announcement of this holiday, the employees will get the benefit of long leave.

It has been decided that during the year 2024, the holidays specified in Annexure-I to this O.M. will be observed in all administrative offices of the Central Government located in Delhi/New Delhi. In addition, every employee shall also be allowed to avail any two holidays to be chosen by him from the list of restricted holidays specified in Annexure – II.

Compulsory leave

The administrative offices of the Central Government located outside Delhi/New Delhi shall compulsorily observe the following holidays in addition to the three holidays to be chosen from the 12 optional holidays indicated in Para 3 below.

  • Republic Day
  • Independence Day
  • Birthday of mahatma gandhi
  • Buddha Purnima
  • Christmas day
  • Dussehra (Victory Dashmi)
  • Diwali (Deepavali)
  • Good Friday
  • Birthday of Guru Nanak
  • IDU’L FITR
  • Idul Zuha
  • Mahavir Jayanti
  • Muharram
  • Birthday of Prophet Muhammad (Id-e-Milad)

For offices located in New Delhi/Delhi, three holidays are selected by the Department of Personnel & Training and for offices located outside Delhi/New Delhi, three holidays are selected by the Central Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committee in the state capitals. Is. If necessary, you can consult the Coordinating Committees at other places in the State from the list given below. The final list, applicable uniformly to all Central Government offices within the concerned State, will be notified accordingly and no changes can be made thereafter. It is also clarified that no change is permitted in the festivals and dates.

  • Janmashtami (Vaishnavi)
  • Ram Navami
  • Maha shivratri
  • Ganesh Chaturthi / Vinayaka Chaturthi
  • Makar Sankranti
  • Chariot Festival
    Onam
  • Pongal
  • Shree Panchami / Basant Panchami
  • Vishu / Vaisakhi / Vaisakhadi / Bhag Bihu / Mashadi Ugadi /
  • Chaitra Shukladi / Chet! Chand/Gudi Padwa/First Navratri/
  • Nauraj / Chhath Puja / Karva Chauth.

No substitute holiday should be allowed if any of the initially declared festival holidays subsequently fall on a weekly holiday or any other non-working day or in case more than one festival falls on the same day.

The list of restricted holidays is attached as Annexure-II to this O.M. For Central Government Offices located in Delhi/New Delhi. The coordination committees in the state capitals may prepare a separate list of restricted holidays keeping in view the occasions of local importance. However, after selecting the 3 convertible holidays in para 3.1 above, the remaining 9 occasions are also to be included in the list of restricted holidays.

  • Any change in the date of holidays in respect of Id-ul-Fitr, Id-ul-Zuha, Muharram and Id-e-Milad, for Delhi/New Delhi offices, if necessary, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Will be declared by (DCP, Special Branch, Delhi Police) of NCT of Delhi on the basis of sighting of Moon after ascertaining the situation from Govt.
  • For offices outside Delhi/New Delhi, Central Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committees in State Capitals based on the decision of the respective State Governments/Union Territories in respect of Idu Fitr, Idul Zuha, Muharram and Id-e-Milad, If necessary, are authorized to change the date of leave. ,
  • It may so happen that the change of date in respect of the above occasions has to be announced at a very short notice. In this case announcement can be made through P.1.B/T.V./ A.l.R. / Newspapers and Heads of Departments/Offices of the Central Government may act as per such announcement without waiting for a formal order regarding change of date.

During 2024, Diwali (Deepawali) is on Thursday, 31 October 2024 (Kartik 09). In some states, it is customary to celebrate the occasion a day earlier i.e. on “Narak Chaturdashi Day”. In view of this, there is no objection if the Central Government offices in a State observe a holiday on account of Diwali on “Narak Chaturdashi Day (in place of Diwali Day)”, if the State Government in that State on that day alone Compulsory holiday for Diwali has been declared for the offices of

Central government organizations which include industrial, commercial and business establishments will observe 16 holidays in a year including three national holidays. Republic Day, Independence Day and Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday as compulsory holidays. The remaining holidays/occasions for the year 2024 under para 3.2 above can be determined by such establishments/organizations themselves.
