So far Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Assam and Bihar governments have increased the dearness allowance, now the state governments of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand are preparing to increase DA. For this, the Finance Department has started preparations and soon preparations are on to bring the prepared proposal to the cabinet. There is a possibility that the DA hike may be announced in May.

4 percent DA will increase again in UP

According to media reports, after the increase in DA at the Center, now the Yogi government of UP is going to increase the dearness allowance of the state employees by 4 percent, after which the DA of the state employees will also increase to 42 percent, it will be implemented from January. The Finance Department has started preparations regarding this, there is a possibility that it may be announced in the end of April or in the first week of May. If the announcement is made in April then 3 months and in May then 4 months arrears will be paid. This decision of the state government will increase the burden of 200 crores. This will benefit about 19 lakh employees and pensioners of UP.

DA increases in UP after center increase

Significantly, the increase in DA of government employees and DR of pensioners twice a year is effective from the months of January and July. Whenever the DA is increased by the Centre, then in UP also the dearness allowance and dearness relief of the employees and pensioners are increased. According to the rules, the central government has increased the DA of the employees for July, now Yogi Adityanath government is also preparing to increase the allowance by 4% on the lines of the center. DA is calculated on the basic pay of employees and pensioners. Dearness allowance and dearness relief are given to government employees, public sector employees and pensioners.

There may be an increase in DA in Jharkhand as well

Apart from UP, employees in Jharkhand can also get the benefit of 42% DA. There is news that soon the DA/DR of state employees and pensioners may also be increased by the Hemant Soren government. For this, a proposal has also been prepared by the Finance Department, which can be placed in the next cabinet meeting. If the government agrees to increase the DA of the employees, then it is expected to increase to 42%. If the new rates will be applicable from January 1, 2023, arrears of 3 months will also be given. Its benefit will be to 19,3000 lakh employees and pensioners. There will be an additional burden of about 45 crores on the state government. This will give a benefit of up to Rs 9000 in salary. DR of pensioners and family pensioners will also increase.

Dearness Allowance will also increase in MP

Apart from Jharkhand-UP, the Madhya Pradesh government is also preparing to increase the 4% dearness allowance of the employees, after which the DA of more than seven and a half lakh officers-employees of the state will increase from 38% to 42%. The Finance Department has started its preparations, there is a possibility that it may be announced in May. This can be implemented from January 1, 2023, in which case arrears of 4 months will also be available. However, the pensioners of the state will have to wait for the increase in the dearness relief, as the Chhattisgarh government has not yet given consent for the previous increase.
