Orders have been issued to increase the dearness allowance of temple employees. There will be a big increase in their salary in the month of November.
Temple Employees DA Hike : The state government has given big relief to the temple employees. Their dearness allowance has been increased to 4%. Orders for increase in dearness allowance for state employees were issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu. As per the earlier announcement, now the temple employees will also be given the benefit of increased dearness allowance along with gratuity.
In view of the continuous demand of government employees and teachers, it was announced by the Government of Tamil Nadu that the salary hike of the employees will be announced whenever the Central Government announces it. Tamil Nadu government will also follow suit and implement the salary hike of government employees. In such a situation, orders have been issued by the Central Government in the month of October. After which now the decision to give increase to the state employees was taken by the Tamil Nadu government. Orders were also issued for this.
On this basis, the Tamil Nadu government has decided to increase the DA of temple employees to 46%. A big decision was taken for the temple employees from April 1 last year. Under which, it was announced to give the benefit of increased dearness allowance to permanent employees with annual salary of Rs 1 lakh or more. This decision has been taken in view of the continuous demand from the employees.
This was ordered by former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin to increase the dearness allowance from 42% to 46% from July 1, 2023. Tamil Nadu government announced that the contribution rate for temple workers will be increased to 46% from July 1. After this it has been increased to 46%. Earlier the DA rate was 42%.
Lakhs of workers working in the temple will get huge benefits from this decision of the state government. There will be an increase in their salary from Rs 3000 to Rs 6000. The order was given to ensure that all subordinate officers properly follow the notification of Tamil Nadu government. It has also been said that the increase in salary will not be applicable to authorized employees including part-time, daily wage earners.
Even before this, after the increase in dearness allowance made by the Central Government in the month of March, the Tamil Nadu government had issued orders to increase the dearness allowance of its state employees and temple employees. The Pongal Festival Bonus was also increased from Rs 2000 to Rs 3000 by the MK Stalin government.
