Guidelines issued
The order states that guidelines have been issued by this department regarding closure of central government offices and providing paid leave to all concerned. Others including daily wage earners/casual workers will get the benefit of holiday on the date of election. All central government offices and central industrial establishments in the notified areas will remain closed on the day of poll.
These rules shall apply where general elections to the State Legislative Assembly Constituencies and bye-elections to the Parliamentary Constituencies and State Legislative Assembly Constituencies are to be held. The employees concerned will be provided paid leave on the date of poll to enable them to exercise their right to vote.
