Harpreet Kaur, President of the Teachers Association, said that increasing the retirement age would provide an opportunity to the experienced faculty member to continue serving the institute and also share their expertise with the juniors. Along with this, juniors will achieve work proficiency.

In the case, the members of the association say that despite the implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission, the newly recruited faculty in the college are getting less salary than their counterparts.
