The workers were on strike for their demands

Bommai’s announcement came at a time when the association had decided not to go to work demanding revision of salaries based on the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission and withdrawal of the National Pension Scheme. Because of this, there was a big obstruction in government services in the state.

The Chief Minister of the state further said that we have already appointed the Seventh Pay Commission. He told that after talks with the association, we have reached a consensus. He further said that as an interim relief, we are increasing the salary of government employees by 17 per cent. The order is being issued.

Committee formed regarding new pension scheme

On the other hand, on the New Pension Scheme (NPS), Bommai said that under the Additional Chief Secretary, a committee has been formed, which will study to reintroduce the old pension scheme. He told that the committee will be asked to submit its report within two months.

However, the association will not withdraw its protest until the written order is issued. Association President CS Shadakshari said that we have heard these assurances earlier also. He said that we have clearly said that we will not accept the assurances. We are looking forward to the order. He said that once the order is issued, we will react.
