At present the DA is 38 per cent, which may increase to 42 or 43 per cent in 2023. With the increase in dearness allowance, the employees getting salary of Rs 18000 will get an increase of Rs 720 per month and the annual salary will increase by Rs 8640.

7th Pay Commission: The new year can be full of gifts for central employees and pensioners. In the new year, once again the dearness allowance of government employees may increase by 4 to 5 percent. If there is an agreement on the same fitment factor, then a big jump can be seen in the basic salary as well. Apart from this, a decision can also be taken on the DA arrears of 18 months outstanding for a long time. If a decision is taken on these three, then there will be an increase in the salary of the employees from 50 thousand to 2 lakh. It has not yet been officially confirmed when this will happen.

According to media reports, once again in 2023 the dearness allowance of central employees-pensioners can be increased by 5 percent. At present the DA is 38 percent, which may increase to 42 or 43 percent in 2023. With the increase in dearness allowance, the employees getting salary of Rs 18000 will get an increase of Rs 720 per month and the annual salary will increase by Rs 8640. Similarly, employees getting salary of Rs 56900 can see an increase in DA by Rs 2276 per month and Rs 27312 per year. This benefit will be given to the employees from January, it can be announced by March.

Actually, recently the Labor Ministry has released the figures of All India Consumer Price Index- Industrial workers (AICPI). There has been a total increase of 2.1 percent in the AICPI index till September 2022 as compared to June, in September this figure stood at 131.2, in such a situation, there is a possibility that the dearness allowance of the employees could be increased by 3-4 percent next year. Compared to August last month, there has been an increase of 1.1 per cent, although the AICPI index numbers for October, November and December are yet to come.

Fitment factor may increase
At present the fitment factor is 2.57, which can be increased to 3.68 times. Since the central employees have been demanding to increase the fitment factor for a long time. With this, the minimum basic salary of the employees will increase from Rs 18000 to Rs 26000. If the central government announces the demand of increasing the fitment factor of the employees in the new year, then the basic salary of the employees will be increased by 8000.

How much will the basic salary increase
The Center is likely to take a decision on the fitment factor hike after next year’s Union Budget. If the fitment factor is increased 3 times, then the salary of the employees excluding allowances will be 18,000 X 2.57 = Rs 46,260. If the demand of the employees is accepted then the salary will be 26000 X 3.68 = Rs 95,680. If the government accepts 3 times the fitment factor, then the salary will be 21000 X 3 = Rs 63,000.

18 months arrears will also be decided soon
There is a possibility that before the new year, the Modi government may also consider the arrears from July 2020 to January 2021, for this, a meeting of the employees and pensioners union representatives may be held soon with the cabinet secretary. , Now, if the arrears are negotiated, a one-time arrear of 11 percent will be given. However, till now no official confirmation or statement from the government has been revealed.

Payment can be made in installments
Recently, Shiv Gopal Mishra, Secretary of the National Council of ‘Staff Side’, also wrote a letter to the Cabinet Secretary and Chairman of the National Council (JCM), demanding immediate release of ‘Arrears’ (18 Month DA Arrears). Now what decision the government takes on the demand of the employees and how much amount will be given or whether any other solution will be found, it will depend on the meeting. It is also discussed that the arrears will be paid in 3 installments or it can be agreed to pay up to 1.50 lakhs once.

How much arrears will be received?
According to Shivgopal Mishra of National Council of JCM, the DA arrears of Level-1 employees can range from Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,554. Level-13 (7th CPC Basic Pay-Scale Rs.1,23,100 to Rs.2,15,900) will become arrears. Level-14 (Pay Scale) can be paid Rs.1,44,200 to Rs.2,18,200.
