There is good news for 11.27 lakh railway employees of the country. Railway Employees will get the benefit of Diwali Bonus for 78 days this year also. The President has approved the decision of the Modi cabinet. Railway employees will get Rs 17,951 as bonus. The bonus will be paid before Dussehra. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said in a tweet that thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the entire railway family for approving the bonus.
Actually, the President has approved the proposal to give bonus to railway employees. This decision will put a burden of about Rs 1832.09 crore on the Railways. The wage calculation limit prescribed for payment of Production Linked Bonus or PLB is Rs.7,000/- per month. Under this, every eligible railway employee will be paid a maximum amount of Rs 17,951 payable for 78 days. It is noteworthy that the railway employees got bonus of 78 days only last year.
About 11.27 lakh non-gazetted railway employees will benefit from this decision, an official statement said. However, it does not include RPF/RPSF personnel. According to the statement, the bonus will be paid before the holidays of Dussehra and Diwali Puja. The Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) will act as an incentive for the railway employees, as the payment of bonus will also give a boost to the economy in the upcoming festive season.
Thousands of employees of Dhanbad, Bokaro and Ratlam will be benefited
In this, 22000 employees of Dhanbad division are to get its benefit. The Finance Department has prepared the data of the employees. Soon the bonus amount will reach the employees’ account. About Rs 40 crore will be paid as bonus.
About 3 thousand employees of Bokaro will get its benefit. More than 12500 railway employees of Ratlam Railway Division of Madhya Pradesh will also get the benefit of bonus of Rs 17951.
For this, the Accounts Department of the Divisional Railway Manager has also made preparations to distribute the bonus. After calculation, employee wise computerized data has been generated. Soon the bonus money will be directly transferred to the employees’ account online. It will cost around 23 crores.
