EPF Interest Rate : When will the money of EPF Account (Employee’s Provident Fund) be released by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), this question remains in the mind of every EPF member. The Central Government had approved a very slight increase in the interest rates of EPF last July, after which EPF subscribers are waiting for the credit of 8.15 per cent interest on EPF for the financial year 2022-23.
What is the latest update from EPFO?
Recently, EPFO talked about starting the process of sending interest to its more than 6 crore subscribers, after which the subscribers are eagerly waiting for it, however, the interest credit has not started yet and the subscribers are asking when. Till then they will get the interest money. Recently a subscriber asked on X platform that “When will the interest of FY 2022-23 appear in our passbook?”
To this EPFO replied that “the process is still in the pipeline and will be seen there in some time.” EPFO said on the amount of interest that “whenever the interest is credited, it will be completed by accumulating on your entire amount. You will not suffer any loss on interest. Please be patient.”
How to know whether the money came or not?
EPFO has instructed its offices to start crediting money in the accounts of members, in such a situation, if you keep checking the passbook of your EPF account, then you will know whether your EPF interest money has come or not.
How to check EPF Passbook?
You can check EPF Balance in many ways. Many facilities like EPFO Portal, Missed Call, SMS are available in this.
1. How to check passbook on EPFO Portal
Step 1- First of all you go to EPFO Portal https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php. For this you must have your UAN (Universal Account Number) activated.
Step 2- When the site is open, go to the ‘Our Services’ tab, then select the drop-down menu ‘for employees’.
Step 3- Click on ‘member passbook’ under the service column.
Step 4- On the next page you will have to enter your UAN and Password. Log in by entering captcha.
Step 5- After logging in, enter the member ID. After this your EPF Balance will be visible.
2. How to check EPF passbook by missed call
You can also check your EPF balance by giving a missed call on 011- 22901406. On making a call, you will get an SMS, in which your balance will be reflected. For this, you have to enter the registered mobile number with the EPF account. Also, along with your PAN and Aadhaar number, your bank account number should also be linked to your UAN.
3. How to check through SMS?
Like missed call service, here all your important documents should be linked with UAN, only then you will be able to use this service. For this, you have to SMS EPFOHO UAN ENG (or instead of ENG, write the code of the language in which you want the message) to 7738299899.
