EPFO e-nomination: An EPF member need not fill up the physical form by asking his employer. Instead they can update their EPF enrollment online using the EPFO UAN portal.
EPFO e-nomination: In order to make it easier to update the nominee details, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) started the e-nomination facility for its members in early 2022. EPFO says that there is no deadline to file e-nomination.
There are many benefits of e-nomination. Under this, after the death of the member, online claim settlement, online payment of PF, pension and eligible nominee gets Rs 7 lakh. An EPF member need not fill up the physical form by asking his employer. You can update your EPF enrollment online using the EPFO UAN portal.
How to do e-nomination
- First of all visit the official website of EPFO, epfindia.gov.in.
- Thereafter select ‘For Employees’ under the dropdown menu of ‘Services’ tab on the homepage.
- Then click on the option ‘Member UAN/Online Service (OCS/OTCP)’.
- Login to the portal using EPFO UAN credentials and password.
- Select ‘e-Nomination’ under the Manage tab.
- Proceed by saving the provided details.
- Click Yes to update family details.
- Click Add Family Details. More than one nominee can be added.
- Select the Nomination Details tab to declare the total amount of shares .
- After that click on Save EPF/EDLI Nomination option.
- Then click on the e-Sign button and an OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar linked mobile number.
- After that submit the OTP and your EPFO e-nomination will be completed.
E-nomination helps in transferring the income and benefits of EPF account holders to their dependents in case of accidental death of the account holder. E-nomination allows nominees such as spouse, children and dependent parents to withdraw accrued amount from EPF, Employees Pension Scheme (EPS) and Employees Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme (EDLI).
UAN can be used: In order to provide social security benefits to dependent members, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) started the e-nomination process for members of Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) accounts in March 2022. Members can use their Universal Account Number (UAN) to submit digital enrollment on the official website of EPFO, epfindia.gov.
