If you are also an account holder of Employees Provident Fund Organization i.e. EPFO, then there is important news for you. EPFO has issued an alert for more than 6 crore subscribers i.e. account holders across the country.
EPFO has appealed to the people to beware of fake calls and messages by tweeting on social media X (formerly Twitter). The Employees Provident Fund Organization has tweeted that EPFO never asks for any personal details or any information from its members through phone, e-mail and social media.
EPFO has once again made it clear that do not share personal information with anyone. EPFO has further written in its tweet that none of its employees asks for any personal information of any member through e-mail, phone, message, WhatsApp or social media. If someone asks you for personal information, then you should immediately complain about it to the cyber crime branch of the police.
Also, EPFO has written in its tweet that ‘Be careful, be alert’, never share your UAN/password/PAN/Aadhaar/bank account details/OTP or any other personal or financial details with any person. In such a situation, be careful and alert from fake calls and messages asking for information.
Along with this, EPFO can get information from its account holders regarding PF, pension or EDLI schemes by calling EPFO helpline number 14470. EPFO helpline is open from 7 am to 9 pm.
