Universal Account Number ie UAN is very important for the employed people. Through this, employed people can log-in to their Provident Fund (PF) account. Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has issued separate UAN for all its subscribers. It is of 12 digits.
Sometimes employees forget this and they have to face problems. Especially when you have changed the company and your PF account is the same. In such a situation, you can recover your forgotten UAN sitting at home without going to the old company’s office or making rounds of the PF office. For this this process has to be followed-
How to recover
First of all go to the EPFO website. After that go to Services and click on For Employees. Then click on Member UAN.
On clicking this, a new page will open, on which the option of login through UAN will be shown. Just below that, the option of Know Your UAN will appear. Click on it.
Now enter your mobile number, which you have linked with PF account. After this, enter the captcha shown on the screen and click on Request OTP.
After the OTP is verified, a new page will open. Enter your details in it like name, date of birth. After that choose one option from Aadhar, PAN or PF member ID. If your PF account is not linked with your Aadhaar and PAN, then select the Member ID option.
Now enter your Aadhaar or PAN or PF member ID and captcha and click on Show My UAN.
Your UAN will be visible to you.
Recovery of
UAN even from missed- call Give a missed call to 011-22901406 from your mobile number registered with EPFO. Immediately you will get an SMS from EPFO on the same number. That SMS will contain all the information related to your PF.
