New Delhi, blissful joy. Xiaomi has launched the flagship smartphone Mi 10 5G in India under its Mi brand . This is the company’s second 5G smartphone after the Mi Mix Alpha concept phone, which has been launched in India. Xiaomi launched its Mi 10 5G series in China in February this year. In this series, two smartphones Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro 5G were launched. Both the smartphones were launched with 108MP rear camera and Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. Both smartphones look almost identical. The company did not launch the high end model of this series Mi 10 Pro 5G in India.
Xiaomi has launched three devices Mi 10 5G Smartphone, Mi Box 4K Digital TV Box and Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 under the Mi brand . The Mi 10 5G is the company’s first commercial flagship smartphone. Talking about the features of the phone, it comes with a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display panel. It has been launched in two color options Twilight Gray and Coral Green. The phone has been launched in two colors as well as two storage options 8GB RAM + 128GB and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option. Its base variant costs Rs 49,999, while the high end variant comes at Rs 54,999. It has been made available for pre-order.
The special feature of the Mi 10 5G is that it comes with 30W reverse wireless charging support feature and 108MP quad rear camera set-up. In this, the left allied very small punch-hole camera for selfie has a capacity of 20MP. In addition to the 108MP main sensor in the back of the phone, 13MP ultra wide camera sensor, 2MP macro sensor and 2MP depth sensor have been given. Mi 10 Pro 5G is not made for the Indian market
When we spoke exclusively to Raghu Reddy, Chief Business Officer, Xiaomi India, and Sumit Sonal, Marketing Leader of Mi , after the launch of Mi 10 5G , they told that launching the Mi 10 Pro 5G in the Indian market would have been a loss deal as it cost Mi 10 It would have been much more than the 5G, while it has features similar to the Mi 10 5G. The Mi 10 Pro 5G has a more fast charger (50W) than the Mi 10 and while the battery is less powerful (4,500mAh). He also told that the Mi 10 Pro 5G has been launched only for the Chinese market. He said that he wanted to launch the Mi 10 5G series in India in February-March itself, but due to the Coronavirus lockdown, it has been delayed to launch.
Company is focusing on Mi brand
Raghu Reddy and Sumit Sonal also informed about future plans of Xiaomi’s Mi brand in India. The company wants to develop the Mi brand under a flagship brand in India. Not only this, in addition to smartphones under the Mi brand, it will also launch accessories and smart home devices in India. At the same time, the company is not optimistic about the Mi Note 10 series launch in India. He did not say openly about whether this smartphone series will be launched in India or not.
