New Delhi: The Central government is considering to provide cashback incentives to increase the collection of digital taxes and increase the use of Fastag. This will motivate people to get Fastag more and more. The Transport Ministry intends to make digital toll collection up to 100% in the next 2-3 years through fast tags. The government is considering to provide benefits on fast tags to increase toll collection through fasttags.
These incentives can be found
Fastag includes 10% cashback on toll repayment. Through this, the NH/NH is the only way to do so. Making payments at food plazas on expressways also involves benefiting people. Currently, about 73% of toll collections are through Fastag, while about 27-28% still have toll collection through cash.
Not only that, in future, petrol/petrol is not the same. It has been proposed to buy diesel through Fastag. This will not allow people to make payments with mobile wallet, debit or credit card.
Such Works Fastag
Fastag toll collection has started across the country from 1st December 2019 on all highways and selected expressways across the country. The system works on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology.
Through this technology, the user will be able to make toll payments through a running train. This will be deducted from the prepad and savings account linked to the FAST. It will be installed on the windscreen of the FASTG train and toll payments will be made as soon as they pass through the netc supporting toll plaza. Fastag not only allows the user to make cashless payments but also reduces the time and fuel consumption as the user does not have to stop at the toll plaza throughout the system.
